Ministry wants to raise local microelectronics share to 80% by 2030
MOSCOW, Aug 21 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Industry and Trade Ministry intends to boost the share of local microelectronics on the internal market to 80% by 2030 from the current 20%, Vasily Shpak, head of the ministry’s department of radio electronic industry, said on Wednesday.
“According to the statistics we have, the share of the local electronic component base is slightly above 20% in Russia today. The rest is exported from abroad. Unfortunately, at present we have no production technological capacities to manufacture components at the cutting-edge level,” Shpak said.
“But we’re bridging the gap confidently and in the 2030 strategy plan an 80% of presence on the domestic market.”
